Bavel district police said that the suicide bomber, 19-year-old Nan Phea alias Mom Rayut, lived in Prey Touch village, Pich Chenda commune, Phnom Preuk district, Battambang province. He was temporarily staying with his grandmother in the commune.
According to the brother of the suicide bomber, 8-year-old Moul Reaksa, before the incident, he saw his brother sharpening a knife, then saw him cut himself with blood on the ground terribly. Call Grandma to come and see.
The suicide grandmother, Oung Phally, 59, confirmed that her grandson had hanged himself several times in the past, but was taken to hospital on November 29. He used a machete to kill himself while sitting on his knees, the knife fell to the ground covered in blood.
Oung Phally said that her grandson had a headache and could not be cured.
